In keeping with the  dedication to further the betterment of the breed, I will endeavour to maintain the following practices:-

1.   That good temperament being the prime importance in the Golden Retriever, breeding
from animals of a nervous disposition or bad temperament be discouraged, however
       good their other qualities.

2.    To maintain the best possible standards of health and environment for my dogs and not
keeping more than I can properly care and maintain.

3.   That I will bear in mind the main hereditary defects in the Golden Retriever and before
breeding from any animal will avail myself of the KC/BVA scheme (or any other
scheme accepted in the U.K.)  for the control of Hip Dysplasia and Hereditary Eye
abnormalities, or any other scheme recognized and accepted by the Kennel Club
or equivalent thereof in any other country and only breed within the limits of normality
       for the breed.

4     To keep and pass onto buyers of puppies accurate records of pedigree, health and
registration , and to advise on rearing.

5      As owners of stud dogs who have an equal responsibility for the future of the advise
honestly owners of proposed visiting bitches as to the suitability of the stud dog with
respect to the bloodlines involved in the proposed matings and ensure that all bitches
mated comply with the requirements of clause 3 above.

6.     That I, when wishing to breed from a bitch assess vigorously the need to breed from a
particular animal, conscious always that I have the resources, both financial and
practical  to care for a litter, especially if it is large for longer than eight weeks, if
         necessary.

7.    That I review the ability of selling the resulting puppies to good permanent homes
8.    where they are well housed, fed, and exercised (and loved), and ensure the reasons for wanting a Golden Retriever are sound.

8.       To refuse to sell to unethical dealers or any buyers where I have reason to believe the    dog will not be properly cared for.

9.       To sell only puppies and adult dogs of sound and good temperament.

10.     I, as a breeder will act in a responsible manner and afford as much help and guidance
is necessary, regarding diet, exercise, health care, play and rest, to purchasers of my     stock as long as it is required.

11.     That bitches are only bred from when physically and mentally mature and the
numbers of litters born are within generally accepted and reasonable  limits
and that bitches are not bred from on consecutive seasons, without justifiable
           cause.
Finally, that I would be prepared to replace or refund the price of a puppy
or help with the re-housing  should it become necessary.
